Prepare for GATE with a visual teacher

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.

The exam

What is GATE?

GATE is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, a postgraduate entrance exam (India). A computer-based test conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and the IITs, offering a paper for each discipline. Every paper opens with a general aptitude section, followed by discipline questions in three formats: multiple-choice with negative marking, multiple-select with no negative marking, and numerical-answer questions typed into a box. The score remains valid for several years and is used both for postgraduate admission and by public sector employers.

Who takes it: Engineering, science, humanities and architecture graduates or final-year students seeking admission to master's and doctoral programmes, or recruitment by public sector undertakings.

What it tests

GATE subjects and sections

  • General Aptitude
  • Engineering Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication

Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.

How to prepare

Studying for GATE, step by step

  1. 01

    Prioritise

Master the core subjects of your discipline deeply; a few high-weight topics recur every year and deserve more time than the long tail.

  2. 02

    Practise

Numerical-answer and multiple-select questions carry no penalty, so practise them specifically and never leave them blank in the exam.

  3. 03

    Avoid the traps

Use the virtual calculator provided in the exam interface during practice, because its layout slows candidates who meet it for the first time.

  4. 04

    Ask, then watch

Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.

  5. 05

    Interrupt and check

Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.

  6. 06

    Your papers

Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Test Lab for graded tests.

Ask it anything

Questions GATE students ask

  • Explain the Laplace transform with a control systems example.
  • How do I find time complexity of recursive algorithms quickly?
  • Teach me the Mohr's circle method for stress analysis.

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for GATE?

Yes. Ask any topic from the GATE syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Master the core subjects of your discipline deeply; a few high-weight topics recur every year and deserve more time than the long tail.

Can I use my own GATE past papers and notes?

Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. Test Lab adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.

Does it teach in the language I study GATE in?

LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
