Boolean logic and logic gates, Taught not just answered.
A real-time, 1:1 lesson on Boolean logic and logic gates: an AI teacher explains it out loud while it visualizes every step. Interrupt it, ask why, and it checks you got it, in 26 languages.
The idea
What is Boolean logic and logic gates?
Boolean logic and logic gates are the foundation of digital computing. Boolean logic deals with values that are only true or false, combined with the operations AND, OR and NOT, described by truth tables and laws such as De Morgan's. Logic gates are circuits that implement these operations on voltages: an AND gate outputs 1 only if both inputs are 1, NAND and NOR are universal gates from which any circuit can be built, and XOR detects difference. Chaining gates builds adders, memory and processors.
Where it appears: Class 11-12 CBSE Computer Science, GCSE and A Level Computer Science, AP CS Principles, GATE CS and EC.
Where learners get stuck
Why Boolean logic and logic gates is hard
Learners read OR as either but not both (which is XOR), botch De Morgan's laws when simplifying, and cannot go from a truth table to a circuit or see how an adder emerges from a handful of gates.
The picture a good explanation starts with: The gate symbols for AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR and XOR each beside its truth table, then an XOR and an AND gate wired together into a half adder.
A lesson, step by step
How a lesson on Boolean logic and logic gates goes
01
Ask
Type or say "What is the difference between OR and XOR?" in your own words, in any of 26 languages.
02
Plan
The tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, starting with the gate symbols for AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR and XOR each beside its truth table, then an XOR and an AND gate wired together into a half adder.
03
Explain
It explains Boolean logic and logic gates out loud while the picture builds step by step, pitched to your level (Class 11-12 CBSE Computer Science and up).
04
Interrupt
Say "wait, why?" or type a doubt: it stops, answers over the picture, and carries on. Ask for a different explanation any time.
05
Check
A checkpoint question makes sure the idea landed, and Test Lab keeps the practice going.
06
Your notes
Upload a PDF or a photo of your class notes or a past paper and the lesson follows your textbook's terms.
Ask it anything
Questions learners ask about Boolean logic and logic gates
- What is the difference between OR and XOR?
- How do I simplify a Boolean expression with De Morgan's law?
- How do logic gates add two numbers?
Any of these, or your own, typed or spoken. The tutor answers on the picture and adapts to how well you are following.
Questions
Asked, Answered
Can LetMeTeach explain Boolean logic and logic gates?
Yes. Ask in your own words and the tutor plans a lesson on Boolean logic and logic gates: it starts with the gate symbols for AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR and XOR each beside its truth table, then an XOR and an AND gate wired together into a half adder. Then it explains each step out loud as the picture builds, stops when you say "wait, why?", and ends with a checkpoint question.
Where does Boolean logic and logic gates come up?
Class 11-12 CBSE Computer Science, GCSE and A Level Computer Science, AP CS Principles, GATE CS and EC. The lesson is pitched to your level and the exam or curriculum you follow, and you can upload your own notes or past papers so it uses your textbook's terms.
Can I learn Boolean logic and logic gates in my own language?
Yes. LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating an English one, so the terms match what your textbook says. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
