Prepare for ACT with a visual teacher

American College Testing: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.

The exam

What is ACT?

ACT is the American College Testing, a university entrance exam (United States and selected international centres). A multiple-choice test with English, Mathematics and Reading sections, an optional Science section and an optional Writing essay, available on paper or online. A recent redesign shortened the test and made Science optional, with scores reported on a composite scale. Questions are direct and fast-paced, testing grammar, algebra and geometry, passage comprehension, and the ability to read charts and experiments quickly.

Who takes it: High school students applying to colleges in the United States who prefer its straightforward, curriculum-based style or who take it alongside the SAT.

What it tests

ACT subjects and sections

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Reading
  • Science (optional)
  • Writing (optional)

Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.

How to prepare

Studying for ACT, step by step

  1. 01

    Prioritise

Pace is the main challenge, so practise each section with a timer and learn the question types that you should skip and return to.

  2. 02

    Practise

The Science section tests reading graphs and experimental logic, not science content, so practise interpreting unfamiliar data quickly.

  3. 03

    Avoid the traps

Decide early whether your target colleges want Science and Writing scores before deciding which optional sections to take.

  4. 04

    Ask, then watch

Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.

  5. 05

    Interrupt and check

Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.

  6. 06

    Your papers

Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Test Lab for graded tests.

Ask it anything

Questions ACT students ask

  • How do I read a science data table quickly on the ACT?
  • Explain the comma rules the ACT English section tests.
  • Teach me trigonometry basics that appear in ACT Math.

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for ACT?

Yes. Ask any topic from the ACT syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Pace is the main challenge, so practise each section with a timer and learn the question types that you should skip and return to.

Can I use my own ACT past papers and notes?

Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. Test Lab adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.

Does it teach in the language I study ACT in?

LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
