The exam
What is AP?
AP is the Advanced Placement Examinations, a school leaving exam (United States and international schools). Each subject has its own examination set by the College Board, typically combining a multiple-choice section with free-response questions such as essays, proofs or calculations. Most examinations are now delivered digitally on the Bluebook app. Results are reported on a five-point scale and many universities grant credit or advanced placement for strong scores. Courses are taught in school over a year before the examination.
Who takes it: High school students, mainly in the United States and international schools, who want college-level credit or placement and a stronger university application.

How to prepare
Studying for AP, step by step
01
Prioritise
Free-response questions are scored with rubrics that reward specific steps and justifications, so learn what each point requires, not just the solution.
02
Practise
The course descriptions published by the College Board define exact learning objectives; use them as a checklist for revision.
03
Avoid the traps
Since most exams are digital, practise typing structured answers and reading long passages on screen before test day.
04
Ask, then watch
Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.
05
Interrupt and check
Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.
06
Your papers
Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Test Lab for graded tests.

Questions
Asked, Answered
Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for AP?
Yes. Ask any topic from the AP syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Free-response questions are scored with rubrics that reward specific steps and justifications, so learn what each point requires, not just the solution.
Can I use my own AP past papers and notes?
Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. Test Lab adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.
Does it teach in the language I study AP in?
LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English and Spanish) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
