Prepare for KCSE with a visual teacher

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.

The exam

What is KCSE?

KCSE is the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, a school leaving exam (Kenya). Set and marked by the Kenya National Examinations Council. Candidates take compulsory English, Kiswahili and mathematics, with sciences, humanities and applied subjects chosen from groups. Papers combine structured questions, essays, practicals and oral components. Results are graded per subject and as a mean grade, which governs placement in universities and colleges. The examination continues for remaining 8-4-4 cohorts while competency-based education phases in.

Who takes it: Form Four students in Kenya completing secondary school under the 8-4-4 system, who need the result for university, college and training placement.

What it tests

KCSE subjects and sections

  • English
  • Kiswahili
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • History and Government
  • Geography

Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.

How to prepare

Studying for KCSE, step by step

  1. 01

    Prioritise

The mean grade depends on a fixed set of subjects, so keep the compulsory languages and mathematics strong alongside your electives.

  2. 02

    Practise

Science practicals and set-book essays are predictable; rehearse the standard experiments and prepare essay plans for each set text.

  3. 03

    Avoid the traps

Use past papers with the council's marking schemes to learn exactly how marks are awarded for working and explanations.

  4. 04

    Ask, then watch

Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.

  5. 05

    Interrupt and check

Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.

  6. 06

    Your papers

Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Test Lab for graded tests.

Ask it anything

Questions KCSE students ask

  • Explain the Kiswahili insha structure for a composition.
  • Teach me titration calculations for Chemistry Paper 3.
  • How do I answer a History and Government essay question?

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for KCSE?

Yes. Ask any topic from the KCSE syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. The mean grade depends on a fixed set of subjects, so keep the compulsory languages and mathematics strong alongside your electives.

Can I use my own KCSE past papers and notes?

Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. Test Lab adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.

Does it teach in the language I study KCSE in?
