Prepare for IOI with a visual teacher
International Olympiad in Informatics: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.
The exam
What is IOI?
IOI is the International Olympiad in Informatics, an olympiad exam (Worldwide). An annual competition held over two contest days, each presenting several algorithmic tasks to be solved by writing programs that are judged automatically against hidden test cases, with partial credit for subtasks. Languages are restricted to a small set, chiefly C++. Problems demand efficient algorithms and careful implementation under time and memory limits. National routes include India's ZCO and ZIO, INOI and the training camp, or USACO in the United States.
Who takes it: Secondary school students selected through national programming olympiads, who solve algorithmic problems by writing programs under contest conditions.
What it tests
IOI subjects and sections
- Algorithms
- Data structures
- Dynamic programming
- Graph theory
- Computational complexity
- Programming in C++
Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.
How to prepare
Studying for IOI, step by step
01
Prioritise
Learn the core algorithm toolkit of graphs, dynamic programming, data structures and greedy methods, then practise identifying which one applies.
02
Practise
Subtasks give partial credit, so secure the easier subtasks of every problem before chasing a full solution to any one of them.
03
Avoid the traps
Regular online contests build speed and debugging discipline; review the editorials after each contest to learn the approaches you missed.
04
Ask, then watch
Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.
05
Interrupt and check
Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.
06
Your papers
Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Test Lab for graded tests.
Ask it anything
Questions IOI students ask
- Explain segment trees and when to use them.
- Teach me dynamic programming on trees with an example.
- How do I approach a problem with subtasks strategically?

Questions
Asked, Answered
Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for IOI?
Yes. Ask any topic from the IOI syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Learn the core algorithm toolkit of graphs, dynamic programming, data structures and greedy methods, then practise identifying which one applies.
Can I use my own IOI past papers and notes?
Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. Test Lab adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.
Does it teach in the language I study IOI in?
LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English, Hindi, Mandarin and Russian) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
